Neurosciencies Area at Germans Trias Hospital

 

Specialist physician at the Unit for neurodegenerative diseases and disorders of the movement of the Germans Trias I Pujol University Hospital. He received his training as a neurologist at the Department of Neurology at the Germans Trias I Pujol Hospital in 2007.

Later, he was recognized by the Autonomous University of Barcelona with the Research Sufficiency with the project related to the use of transcranial ultrasonography in deep cerebral stimulation surgery of Parkinson's disease from which he has written several articles. He has also studied biomarkers in biological liquids and tissue from sinucleinopathies, especially dementia by Lewy bodies.

Between 2007 and 2014 he worked as a neurologist attached to the EAIA of cognitive disorders and the CSS El Carmen Dementia Unit. In parallel, he participated in several research projects financed through the post-residency fellowship of the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute, all of them related to the area of ​​neurodegenerative diseases and movement disorders.

He has focused his research interest in the study of the prodromatic phase of Parkinson's disease and in the surgery of deep brain stimulation in this disease.

Since 2011, he works at the Neurodegenerative Diseases and Disorders of the Movement Unit of the Germans Trias I Pujol University Hospital. He is a member of the Spanish Society of Neurology (SEN) and his group of movement disorders study.
